Commencing Feb 7th, we will be holding a
Singaround on the first Tuesday of each month, starting from 8pm. These are
free informal evenings where everyone gets together for a drink, and those who want to can sing or play an instrument, those who want to listen can listen, and those who want to join in with choruses can… erm… join in with choruses! This can be anything from unaccompanied singing to instrumental tunes, and is open to solo’s, duo’s, or whatever goes! The aim is for people to get together in a friendly, relaxed environment & have the opportunity to air their music without the pressure of a staged performance. There will also be the opportunity for tunes sessions for part of the evening if there is a demand.
Anyone is welcome, though we respectfully suggest that this is an acoustic night, so we prefer you not to bring an instrument which relies upon electricity! ‘Backing tapes’ are also inappropriate – if you need accompaniment, one of our regulars is usually able to oblige.

The MC for the night will be
Rick Monaghan. On arrival you can put your name down to do a song or two and this is then rotated around the room. Depending on numbers and what time is left later in the evening, there could be opportunities for additional songs/tunes to be played. There is no need to ‘book a spot’ in advance, just turn up & you will be included!
The usual “Folk Club” rules will apply – i.e. on entering or leaving the room please remain by the door if someone is performing and move around once they have finished. There is plenty of opportunity for conversation during the beer break – please respect each performer’s efforts by remaining quiet during their ‘turn’.
